Cutlery Works, Sheffield

Decided to give this place a visit on a blustery Sunday lunch time on St Patricks day, so was some kind of excuse to go out and have a Guinness or 3!!!!. Billed as a trendy food court with open seating featuring a series of global eateries, located in an old industrial building in the Kelham Island area of Sheffield.

Was really surprised at how busy it was at 12noon on a Sunday but soon found a gap at the end of a table. Decided to opt for poutine first from The Gravy Train

How can chips n gravy taste so good. Chose the ‘Pioneer’ which consisted of skin on fries, cheese curds and gravy topped with boozy bbq chicken, mapled bacon, soured cream and smoked paprika. So just choose your food, tell the server your table no. and a waitress will bring your food, fool proof system, but just be aware all payments are card only.

Up next was a couple of samosas from ma ba

The Journey of Indian food as its labelled is based on the lower floor(did I mention this food hall is located over 2 floors) and provided us with a spicy little snack.

On we went upstairs and managed to grab a seat at Edo Sushi a beautiful Japanese tapas and sushi station. Seated around a central kitchen it was interesting to watch the chefs cook in front of you. Decided for the mix tapas of 3 dishes for 12 quid washed down with a bottle of Sapporo and a green tea..the pork gyoza the stand out dish

Really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be calling in again, not quite Chelsea market in NYC but a very close second.

Finished the day off with a couple more drinks and as the sign behind the bar says Reyt Good Beer, I couldn’t agree more
